New features and fixes in New Recruit, month by month.
October 2026
Warhammer 40,000
Friendly 11th edition games can now generate a casual report from the results screen.
The detachment stratagem list also shows the core stratagems.
Fixed several wrong base sizes in 11th edition.
Deployment Planner: threat map from weapon ranges, formations (base to base, line, screen), range rings, unit coherency check, distance readout while dragging, snap to grid, copy and paste, keyboard shortcuts and line of sight by keyword for Aircraft and Towering units.
Deployment Planner: share a read-only link to your plan that opens without an account, and show your My Miniatures pictures on the bases.
The Deployment Planner is now in the main menu.
The Deployment Planner and exports take each model's base size from its unit profile.
Space Marine chapters list their own detachments first, under a heading of their own.
The changelog has a new Wh40k-11e tab listing the data changes month by month: points, profiles, rules and wargear options.
Fixed Submit Results doing nothing at the end of an 11th edition game.
The 9th Age
Text import and export read unit sizes again for units with irregular plurals, such as Harpies and Dire Wolves.
The 9th Age 2nd edition gets the T9A export format, faction icons, a 4500 points default and the T9A profile tables.
Fixed mounted characters showing a wrong combined stat when the mount improves the rider's value.
Game assistant: an optional turn tracker, a Lists view with the scoreboard and both armies, and a grouped turn menu.
Game assistant: the Flux card follows your theme colors and fits the screen without scrolling.
3rd edition armour is always shown as a save (X+), the option to switch it is gone.
The Global statline shows Rsr again.
Army builder
My Miniatures redesigned: a gallery with built and painted status, filters by faction and status with progress bars, a full-screen sheet that saves as you type, a unit and model browser to match each miniature, and a reworked picture library.
Automatic minimum fill no longer adds units or options that are hidden in the list.
Rule links in unit profiles open the right faction's rule when several factions share the same name.
Faster builder: clicking an option no longer redraws every unit, and large lists stay responsive.
A collapsed option group shows the error icon of the options inside it.
List name and note can be edited from List Configuration.
My Miniatures: a table view, models of the same type grouped with built and painted counts, a faction picker for filters and matches, and an improved picture cropper with zoom out and background removal.
Rule search works in every game system and opens the rule's reference.
Fixed reopening a list sometimes showing an older version of it.
Fixed stat bonuses not updating when the option granting them is taken a second time.
Import & export
New Starcraft TMG text export format.
Combined unit cards keep weapons before abilities when a leader has no ranged weapon.
Stratagem lists no longer overlap in the pretty export.
Game assistant
Fixed the game assistant when you are the second player of a tournament game: your side, your list and the players' names are shown correctly.
Fixed units still alive inside a destroyed unit being shown as dead.
Tournaments
Text lists added to a tournament are only converted into a New Recruit list when you tick the option, which is offered when the recognized points match.
Rounds missed after dropping out count as losses in the win/loss tiebreaker.
Team tournaments: a screen left open no longer files scores under the wrong match.
Fixed the default country when creating a tournament.
Pairings: a new Table assignment option keeps the top players on the first tables or assigns tables at random, and works together with avoiding a table a player already played on.
Fixed the option to avoid a table a player already played on sometimes seating them on it again.
New statistics for the meta, tournaments, leagues and profiles: faction win rates, matchups, missions, units and points, with filters by event size, country and player Elo.
Profiles show your Elo, rank and record, with a curve of your Elo over time.
The Elo updates right away when a result is corrected, deleted or rejected.
Changing a tournament's scoring after the games no longer resets earlier results.
Statistics respect tournaments that keep their lists private.
Results can only be entered once the pairings are saved.
Fixed the lists not loading when going from one match straight to another.
The Old World scoring template now adds the rulebook bonuses to Victory Points: +100 for the enemy General slain or fled (the box previously did nothing), +50 for the enemy Battle Standard Bearer and +50 per enemy standard captured, filled in by the game assistant.
Mobile & offline
On iPhone, swiping back and forward only starts from the edge of the screen, so swipes on unit rows are no longer cancelled.
Export templates, their options and your saved games now follow your account across devices.
Interface
Book and faction names are shown in your language across lists, pickers, games, reports and tournaments.
Compact list header on mobile.
Share link errors are shown in the dialog instead of leaving it empty.
The faction filter in My Lists no longer lists factions twice.
Opening a dropdown no longer makes it grow.
Profile tables adapt to the width of their panel instead of the window.
Collapsible categories show a small fold arrow on mobile.
Data editor
Push and pull your game system to and from GitHub straight from the editor, fork a repository to your account and resolve conflicting files one by one.
Star a search to save it, your saved searches are offered when the search box is empty.
New Display Group field to list options under sub-headings inside their group.
New tutorial: create your own homebrew game system, from the GitHub account to sharing an install link.
Offline Builder
A Debug modifiers panel in the unit and force menus shows every modifier that touches them, whether it is active and why, to help data authors.
Reliability & performance
Tournament pages and profile match histories load much faster.
September 2026
Warhammer 40,000
Deployment Planner (11th edition): place your army on the official deployment maps with base-to-base line of sight, two tiers of blocking terrain and live visibility shading while you drag. Ctrl+drag box-selects models across units.
Every 11th edition datasheet now has a base size, used by the Deployment Planner.
Guided list creation: faction, game mode, battle size, detachment, force disposition and name, step by step, with a preview of the mission matchups and of the detachment rules.
Lists exported as text from the official GW app can be pasted back in.
Game reports have a free-text comment field, shown below the report.
The 10th edition stratagems export template uses the NR phase icons.
Faction-specific stratagems no longer disappear when the app is set to another language.
The Override points limit input sets the list's points limit, and unticking it falls back to the chosen Battle Size.
Fixed a false Enhancements limit error on 11th edition lists.
Game assistant: End of Battle primary VP no longer count toward the 15 VP per-round cap, and ticking a scoring checkbox no longer wipes the round's primary and secondary scoring.
Play Mode sorts weapons by their dice roll, which can be turned off in Options.
Unit profiles show each model's base size in a Base column.
GW is now the default export format, with Tournament second.
The 9th Age
Game assistant rebuilt: a Battle Setup step (roll-off, Season 2 secondaries, Spell Swapping), player turns, a Magic Phase that generates its own dice with the Miscast table, one Flux deck draw per turn, deployment reminders and limited-use items ticked directly from the Turn page.
Text import and export round-trip cleanly: options match regardless of their order, enchant and rune groups are handled, and an option the dataset forbids is explained with the dataset's own wording.
Spell swaps: the Prophet of Ashuruk always lists all three Apprentice Spells, greying out the one already known, and it can no longer trade away the spell gained from the Hereditary Swap (or the other way round).
Spell cards open in a popup instead of unfolding inside the list, and Bound Spells show a BOUND badge.
Casters no longer go missing from the Turn page after a reload.
Fixed weapon bonuses stacking on models that choose between several weapons, such as the Warriors of the Dark Gods Chosen Lord.
Text import reads option names containing commas, and explains an option that needs a parent option you did not take instead of dropping it silently.
Ogre Khans, Vampire Covenant and Vermin Swarm show their army icons again.
Lists and the miniature collection from the old 9th Age dataset now move to the new one for every user, My Miniatures has a manual import button, and a list that cannot be converted is reported once instead of silently.
Army builder
Create-list dialog: name first, touch-friendly faction cards, and the last configuration pick creates the list.
The auto-hidden left panel keeps its state across a page refresh.
Importing a shared list no longer brings the sharer's folder, and a copy no longer carries the original's folder and play state.
Unit search has a clear button.
Fixed the model count missing on led units, and a selection now follows the category changes of every ancestor entry (fixes 2-leader Kroot Carnivores and similar).
Fixed false "changed in two places" conflicts when saving a list, and choosing Later on the conflict dialog is remembered until you close the app.
My Miniatures: model photos show again in the add-unit panel on mobile, and the owned-miniatures filter no longer hides units you own.
My Miniatures counts command upgrades such as Musicians and Standard Bearers as their own model.
The list settings dialog no longer shows empty hidden limits left by older imports, and its cost inputs fit the dialog.
Fixed the + button on mobile adding the wrong amount on some options.
Clearer labels and tooltips for the auto-adjust options, and options that had no effect were removed.
Import & export
Identical units led by different characters each get their own card again in exports such as 40K Cards.
AoS4 Cards: prayer and command values stay inside their icon on Safari.
Text import ignores the footer other army builders add at the end of an exported list.
Exports keep the wargear that tells chosen model variants apart, even when hidden entries are left out.
Text import recognises more list layouts: custom unit names, footnote markers, costs written with a currency word, lists without points, and other army builders' headings.
Game assistant
Connected games: each seat keeps its own perspective, missing saves were recovered and room sync is more reliable.
Tournaments
Fixed 9th Age tournament scoring, where any game with a large VP difference scored 16-4.
Games played with the game assistant in a tournament are scored on the tournament's points limit, not on the limit the list was built at.
A match report shows the right lists when you switch from one match to another.
Warhammer Event Companion support for 11th edition tournaments: a new Warhammer Event scoring template, a Force Disposition per player, a battlefield layout per match, and the game assistant opens from the match to fill in the report.
Generate Pods no longer wipes existing matches and creates the playoff bracket again, and matches that already have a report can no longer be deleted.
Player aliases are filled in on tournament game reports.
The faction filter finds 9th Age lists again in tournament exports, imports and rankings.
Security fixes.
Interface
The language picker shows every language in its own name.
A status line under the loading spinner says what the app is waiting for.
A What's new page lists the recent changes to NR.
Reliability & performance
Fixed a blank page on some browsers where the layout collapsed to zero height.
Cached files from older builds are evicted, so an update no longer mixes old and new code.
August 2026
Import & export
New text import dialog with a live preview of what could and could not be read. It reads lists from the GW app, WTC/tournament exports, community formats and hand-written lists, in every language NR supports, and restores leader attachments.
Text import works for every game system, not only 40k.
Paste a share link, a list id or a roster file straight into the import box.
Export dialog redesigned: split view with live preview on desktop, compact sheet on mobile, per-block copy buttons for Discord, the format remembered per system, and a share sheet on mobile.
Pretty export shows stratagems on cards; click a profile to cross it out and drop it from print.
Fixed: Warscroll export, glued model lines in the Tournament format, card export hanging, crusade force names, 40k leader attachments and constant wargear lines.
Army builder
Leaders attach through the catalogue's own associations; attached units can stay in their own category, and the combined leader view is available in play mode.
Swipe gestures on unit rows: duplicate, delete, and unlink an attached leader.
My Lists groups 11th edition lists by Force Disposition.
Create list: tappable force rows, a floating create button on mobile, and a preview eye on each force.
NR asks before opening a pinned list with a newer cached book instead of switching silently.
Fixed: attached leaders shown twice in build mode, custom view crash in play mode, the min/max buttons crashing on a rejected change, the sticky roster header on mobile, dark mode inline rename boxes and the notes cursor jumping.
Warhammer 40,000
Missions: a dropdown on the Force Disposition entry, every primary and secondary mission card refreshed against the live cards, rule preambles and keywords highlighted, mutually exclusive scoring bands marked.
The fixed-secondary picker previews the mission cards.
Game assistant: own phase icons, a phase selector and one-tap access to the list.
Primary scoring capped at 15 VP per round and 45 VP per game; stratagems are shared both ways between an attached leader and its unit.
Tournaments
ELO pairings algorithm for the first round.
CEIL and FLOOR operations in automatic score calculation.
Visibility and the online flag can be edited after results exist.
A wrong team password on signup now shows a proper message.
Tighter privacy on tournament and list visibility.
Game assistant
The wound counter can be turned into a model counter.
Bigger wound +/- touch targets on mobile.
Fixed: blank page or stuck loading on a direct game URL, a seasonless 40k game freezing the assistant, the dots menu floating over popups, and the mission scoring checkboxes on wide phones.
Mobile & offline
The app starts from its local cache right away and syncs with the server behind; edits made offline are sent on reconnect.
An expired session is announced and your edits stay local instead of failing silently.
Offline install no longer aborts on a single failed file, and persistent storage is requested so the browser does not evict your data.
The builder no longer rescans the whole roster on every edit.
Navigation hardened against third-party scripts; dead navigation buttons and a stuck offline badge on flaky connections fixed.
Safari below 16.4 works again.
Wiki
Exact-match crusade filter and a fix for pages that rendered twice.
July 2026
Interface

Desktop sub-unit stepper and options menu redesigned; identical sub-unit stacks can be combined in one action.
Country flags render everywhere, including Chrome on Windows.
Padding and safe areas reworked for the installed app; your theme only applies inside the app, not on the public pages.
The 9th Age
New 9th Age dataset: category indicators, per-model profiles, exclusive-selection profiles, spells, icons, and text export/import in the legacy format.
Game assistant on its own pages, first pass of the 3.0 rules.
Army builder
Add-force dialog grouped by faction.
Quick-install links: /app/install/<system> installs a game system in one step.
11th edition: any character can be a leader candidate.

Warhammer 40,000
Stratagems: 11th edition template enabled, faction stratagems with the same name in different detachments kept apart, dark mode backgrounds fixed.
Export includes the force disposition; the battlefield divider follows the real deployment split.
Tournaments
Team tournaments show the number of teams and players.
Flags before country names in dropdowns.
Wiki
Home page translated in 14 languages; wiki pages have their own titles, render markdown and open directly in the builder.

Mobile & offline
Lists and games move to a faster, sturdier local database on mobile; the old one is deleted to free storage.

Game assistant
Wound counter shown on models, and reflected in the model export.
Random challenger card.
Maximum points field on missions.
Army builder
An infinite constraint loop is detected and cut short instead of freezing the list (Age of Sigmar).
Exports find the points cost by type, so points work in translated catalogues.
New catalogues added to a GitHub system are always kept.
The 9th Age
Weapons auto-selected when adding an entry; constant options no longer exported; rarity fixed.
Mobile & offline
Supporter features work offline.
Android uses the native directory picker.
Interface

Leaders: a setting to allow leaders in 40k 10th edition, a dead leader no longer affects its unit, associations kept with presets, clearer association errors.
Reset Wounds option in the List Options menu and in the game assistant.

Rule comparison shows the source entry name when it differs.
Autocorrect disabled on notes.
