Add game data from GitHub or a folder

New Recruit reads game data files (.gst and .cat, plus other supported formats). Besides the games it hosts, it can load data you add yourself from a GitHub repository or from files on your device. Data you add stays on your device and is not uploaded to New Recruit.

From a GitHub repository

  1. Open MySystems.
  2. Choose Add from GitHub.
  3. Paste the address of the repository (for example owner/repository or the full GitHub URL) and confirm.
  4. New Recruit downloads and converts the files on your device. Updates are picked up automatically afterwards.

If someone sends you an install link (a New Recruit address with the repository already filled in), opening it brings you straight to the confirmation step.

From files on your device

  1. Open MySystems.
  2. Use the upload option and pick the data files (on the desktop app you can pick a whole folder, which is then watched for changes).
  3. New Recruit converts the files on your device.

Good to know

  • Data you add is shown in full. New Recruit does not filter it.
  • To go back to the hosted data, remove the added game from MySystems.
